UK’s serial rapist Reynhard Sinaga convicted with life sentence

Reynhard Sinaga, an Indonesian Ph.D. student in the UK, has been convicted for raping and sexually assaulting 48 men in Manchester, England. The 36-year-old has been sent to a lifetime in jail with a possible release after 30 years.

Prior to this sentence, Sinaga previously received a 20-years-to-life term for previous sexual assault cases.

Prosecutors in the United Kingdom described Sinaga as “the most prolific rapist in British legal history.” The Indonesian native moved has been living in the UK since 2007. His identity was unveiled for the first time following two years of trials on Monday.

Judge Suzanne Goddard said Sinaga is “highly dangerous, cunning and deceitful” and deemed that he will “never be safe to be released.”

“You are an evil serial sexual predator who has preyed upon young men who came into the city center wanting nothing more than a good night out with their friends,” Goddard reportedly said during the conviction. “One of your victims described you as a monster. The scale and enormity of your offending confirm this as an accurate description.”

Sinaga was charged with sexual offenses against 48 male victims. However, authorities found videos of 195 men being sexually abused by Sinaga at his flat. Officials say many of them were unconscious.

The prolific rapist targeted drunk and heterosexual men out in the city at night. Sinaga would act under the guise of a good Samaritan offering them a place to rest in his apartment. He would then allegedly drug them and assault them while unconscious.
