Liam Payne talks Harry Styles’ SNL diss toward Zayn Malik

Nothing to raise eyebrows at. Liam Payne believes that Harry Styles’ hilarious dig about Zayn Malik on his Saturday Night Live episode is nothing but just for laughs.

Payne made a guest appearance on the Thursday episode of “Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen.” On the show, the former One Direction member was asked how he felt about Styles joking about mistaking Malik for Ringo Starr of The Beatles in his SNL monologue.

“I think it’s just a funny joke at the end of the day. Obviously Zayn’s circumstances for leaving were his own and it’s a different situation for all of us and I suppose we deal with it in a different way,” Payne explained on the talk show. “I thought it was quite funny.”

The 26-year-old singer then recounted his first reunion with Styles on the show’s segment, “Plead the Fifth.” The two recently met at the Live at Capital’s Jingle Bell Ball show.

“We spoke about a number of things, we hadn’t seen each other for three years,” he shared. “Literally I hadn’t seen him once, we hadn’t spoken or anything. He was pretty much the same boy that I left him. We spoke about kids and happiness and all sorts of stuff.”

While Payne didn’t shy away from revealing his talk with Styles, he did have a telling response to being asked if he dated Naomi Campbell. Instead of answering directly, the singer “plead the fifth” which saves him from answering the question in the segment.
