Fans of the actress woke up to the news that Aniston has finally joined Instagram. Before the verified symbol appeared on her account, it was probably hard to believe. But as it turns out, it’s true. There are only a handful of specials events that massive social media platforms and this is definitely one of them.
Aniston’s account on the photo-sharing app couldn’t be followed due to a technical glitch. That’s right, “The Morning Show” star literally broke Instagram after she made her debut on the platform.
Instagram confirmed the news themselves in a statement to E! News. The company says that they are completely “aware that some people are having issues following Jen’s profile — the volume of interest is incredible! We are actively working on a solution and hope to have it up and running smoothly again shortly.”

After many years of avoiding social media, the 50-year-old actress finally gave in. She made the surprising move on Tuesday morning. For her first post, she shared a selfie with her Friends co-stars. Matthew Perry, Lisa Kudrow, Matt LeBlanc, Courteney Cox and David Schwimmer were all in the photo that will go down in Instagram’s history books.
Aniston then captioned the post: “And now we’re Instagram FRIENDS too. HI INSTAGRAM.”
