A couple of years since his divorce from Norweigan royalty, Princess Martha Louise, Ari Behn has passed away at the age of 47. Behn was an author and recently swept headlines after publicly accusing actor Kevin Spacey of sexual assault.
Geir Håkonsund, a spokesperson to Behn told Norwegian press, “It’s with great sorrow in our hearts that we, those closest to Ari Behn, must report that he took his own life today.” The statement was published by NTB Norwegian news agency. Håkonsund asked for to give Behn’s family and representatives privacy at their time of mourning.
Separately, King Harald and Queen Sonja of Norway released a press statement on Wednesday addressing the unfortunate news. The royals described the late author as “an important part of our family for many years, and we carry warm, fond memories of him.”
Two years ago, Behn came forward claiming that Spacey had grabbed his genitals under a table at a Nobel Prize concert the actor was hosting.
“I have a little #MeToo story about Kevin Spacey,” Behn told a Norwegian radio station back in 2017.
“We were having a nice chat where we spoke about theater and drama, and the little theater, the Wick, a theater in London. We had a good conversation sitting beside each other. After five minutes he said ‘Hey, let’s go out and have a cigarette,’ then he grabbed me under the table right in the balls.”
This is the second time one of Spacey’s accusers have died this year.
