Alec Baldwin has been the victim of one of Comedy Central’s Roast evenings and his daughter didn’t hold back on poking fun at her world-famous father. Once the 23-year-old took to the podium, she didn’t waste any time getting to a joke about her father’s infamous voicemails to her from 2007.
She said “Dad, I’m Ireland. It’s good to be here. I almost didn’t even know about it because I haven’t check my voicemails from my dad from the last, like, 12 years.”
The joke references the infamous voicemail Baldwin sent to his then 11-year-old daughter during his divorce and child custody despite with his ex-partner Kim Basinger. In the voicemail, he called his daughter a “rude, thoughtless, little pig.”
Her joke was met with all-round laughter and it appears that, while having an estranged relationship following the voicemail incident, both father and daughter are looking back on it with humour. She also tried on some fresh material, saying that “I actually have a lot in common with the people in this roast, because like them, I don’t really know you that well either.”
She also took a few jabs on her mother’s behalf, who wasn’t present at the roast.
