WandaVision might take place in an alternate reality

Disney+ has finally unveiled a new synopsis for its upcoming Marvel series, WandaVision.

Last year’s teaser photo for the upcoming show was greeted with curiosity as much as excitement by fans. After fans saw Elizabeth Olsen (Wanda Maximoff/Scarlet Witch) and Paul Bettany (Vision) illustrated as their characters in a 50’s sitcom-like preview, many were wondering about the series’ mysterious plot.

Now, WandaVision’s synopsis is here to finally shed even just a bit of light regarding the matter.

Maximoff and Vision were first introduced in the MCU in the film Avengers: Age of Ultron. They began a romantic relationship and went on to become key figures in the Infinity Saga. But Vision was killed by Thanos in Avengers: Infinity War so it seems like WandaVision will somehow be breathing new life to the character after he wasn’t resurrected in Avengers: Endgame.

Vision will be rejoining his lady love in the series that Bettany himself described as “bonkers,” “out there” and “nuts.” Another preview that premiered at the Sunday’s Super Bowl event seemed to prove that Bettany’s hints were on point. The two are seen in a sitcom-like show with Maximoff donning costumes from various decades.

The new synopsis wrote: “Marvel Studios’ “WandaVision” blends the style of classic sitcoms with the Marvel Cinematic Universe in which Wanda Maximoff (Elizabeth Olsen) and Vision (Paul Bettany)—two super-powered beings living their ideal suburban lives—begin to suspect that everything is not as it seems.”

Based on this golden nugget of information, the two might be in an alternate reality and they have to figure out why and how. This might be the only rational explanation behind the bizarre set up of the series.
