Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson is entering the WWE stadium one again. Time to see what The Rock is cooking!
The wrestler-turned-actor dropped big news for wrestling fans. He’ll be cooking something up once more for the relaunch of WWE’s SmackDown. The wrestling event will air on Fox this coming Friday. Johnson announced that he will be coming “back home” 15 years after he left WWE as a regular. Since the year 2004, he’s made just a few appearances including one where he was with John Cena in 2013’s Wrestlemania.
Johnson broke the exciting news to fans via Twitter. He posted a video montage of his iconic scenes from the wrestling show and on the caption, he wrote:
“FINALLY…I come back home to my @WWE universe. This FRIDAY NIGHT, I’ll return for our debut of SMACKDOWN! LIVE on @FOXTV. There’s no greater title than #thepeopleschamp. And there’s no place like home. Tequila on me after the show #IfYaSmell #Smackdown #RocksShow #FOX.”
But The Rock isn’t the only wrestling personality to return to the WWE stadium. Notable superstars will appear on Friday’s event including Jerry Lawler, Mark Henry, Ric Flair Hulk Hogan, Trish Stratus, Mick Foley, Booker T, Kurt Angle, Lita, Goldberg, and Sting.
The celebration will mark the 20th anniversary of WWE’s SmackDown. The main event will see wrestling champ Kofi Kingston defending his title against nemesis Brock Lesnar. Watch out for the big event on Fox Sports at 8 p.m. ET / 5 p.m. PT which will take place at Los Angeles’ famous Staples Center.
