Brad Pitt talks confronting Harvey Weinstein for ex Gwyneth Paltrow

Brad Pitt is one of the very few celebrities of his star power to ever stand up against Harvey Weinstein personally. Now, he’s offering details on what went down that time he defended Gwyneth Paltrow from the alleged sexual predator’s advances.

Paltrow previously revealed that her ex-fiancee had confronted the movie mogul. She recalled being in shock while telling Pitt that Weinstein had been inappropriate towards her.

Speaking to CNN Pitt explained what prompted him to confront the Miramax founder.

“At that moment, I was just a boy from the Ozarks on the playground, and that’s how we confronted with things,” the A-lister tells the news outlet. “I just wanted to make sure nothing was going to happen further because she (Paltrow) was going to do two films.”

Speaking further about the changes brought about by the Weinstein accusations that prompted #MeToo he said:

“I think the interesting thing is that we, Hollywood specifically, but the workplace, men and women’s dynamics is being recalibrated.”

“Recalibrated in a very good way that is long overdue. And I do think that’s an important story to tell,” the actor continued.

Paltrow and Pitt dated not long after they starred in 1994’s Seven. Their relationship ended up in an engagement that didn’t materialize following their decision to split in 1997. Paltrow came forward about her experience with Weinstein in an interview on The Howard Stern Show last year.

Paltrow’s story was greeted with applause for her courage to publicly speak out against Weinstein as well as Pitt’s guts to stand up to him.
